A team jersey or shirt identifies to whom you belong.  Jesus gave an ordinance to the church that does the same thing.  Baptism is a public identification that the believer belongs to Christ.  It is our team jersey!  Jesus also gave the church an attitude and action plan that serves as a team jersey.  He said in John 13:35, "By this, all men will know that you are my disciple if you love one another."  Love is our ongoing obligation as a follower of Jesus.  Both declare to a watching world that we belong to Him!  To whom do you belong?
