Colossians 4:2-4
Great Day of Prayer: Spring 2018

William Law, an early 20th-century British pastor said, "Prayer is a mighty instrument, not for getting man's will done in heaven, but for getting God's will done on earth."

The famous statement, "Prayer Changes Things" is true to a certain degree. The longer I live, the more convinced I become that God is less interested in changing things through prayer than He is changing me.

So what does REAL PRAYING, life-changing prayer look like? In Colossians chapter four there is a large section devoted to speaking. Paul wrote about witnessing, sharing, preaching, and praying. It is significant that the first area of speech he wrote about is praying. There are four characteristics of REAL PRAYING.

REAL PRAYING is faithful praying, v. 2

REAL PRAYING is watchful praying, v. 2b

REAL PRAYING is thankful praying, v. 2c

REAL PRAYING is purposeful praying, vv. 3-4
