“You shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17). Ever since that fateful day of disobedience in the Garden, humanity has lived under the awful penalty of that sin. Yet, Jesus made an amazing statement in this passage and in Gen. 11:25-26 that certain people will “never see death.” What does this mean? How is this possible? In this passage, we will consider how the guarantee of this promise is based on the glory of His Person.
