1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Memorial Day is a day of remembering and honoring all those who fought and died in America's wars. For the Christian, there is a continuing ordinance of remembrance established by our Savior the night before He died. It is called communion. If you are a follower of Jesus, you are welcome to His table to remember the most awesome act of sacrifice ever achieved.

Communion has two parts:

1. The Bread: remember Christ's body, vv. 23-24.

2. The Cup: remember Christ's blood, v. 25.

Verse 26 describes communion as both a monument to the past and a pledge for the future.
