Acts 4:32-5:11

Our God is a God of truth. He doesn’t just tell the truth; He IS truth. In 3 John, verse 4, the Apostle expressed his desire for truth in his followers. Truth is vitally important to God. Politicians may be applauded for how well they lie, but Christians are called to a higher standard.

God’s nature of truth is why hypocrisy is so despised by Him. Some of the most severe words uttered by Jesus were directed at hypocrites in Matthew 23.

The antithesis of hypocrisy is authenticity. In today’s passage, we discover an authentic believer, Barnabas, set in contrast to a hypocritical husband-wife team, Ananias and Sapphira.

· The authenticity of the early Christians, 4:32-37.

· The hypocrisy of two early Christians, 5:1-11.

Jesus is the only One Who never had an ounce of hypocrisy in His life. He died to save you.
