1 Corinthians 15:1-19

There is a saying that rings true - "belief determines behavior." It has been obvious in our exposition of 1 Corinthians that the behavior of this church was messed up! Perhaps a contributor to this Corinthian carnality was their confusion about the resurrection. It may be the same confusion that is the cause of such carnality in the church today. The Apostle sets forth the facts of the resurrection and in doing so declares that without Christ's resurrection there is no Christian religion.

1. Christ's resurrection is a fact because it is scripture, vv. 1-4.

2. Christ's resurrection is a fact because it is historical, vv. 5-8.

3. Christ's resurrection is a fact because it is personal, vv. 9-11.

4. Christ's resurrection is a fact because it is essential, vv. 12-19.

Scriptures:

Isaiah 53:5-6

Psalm 16:9-10

Acts 2:30-31

Romans 4:25

The best defense of the resurrection is from a life demonstrating its radically transforming power.
