1 Corinthians 15:35-58

Winston Churchill arranged his own funeral. There were stately hymns in St. Paul's Cathedral and an impressive liturgy. After the benediction, Churchill arranged for a bugler high in the dome of St. Paul's on one side to play "Taps," the universal signal that the day is over. After the playing of "Taps," there was a long pause and then a bugler on the other side played "Reveille," the signal of a new day beginning. It was Churchill's way of saying that while we say "Good night" here, it's "Good morning" up there! In the final verses of chapter 15, Paul answered the question he raised in verse 35, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?" In answering these two questions, he gave some resurrection realities.

1. The reality of the resurrection is illustrated in God's world, vv. 36-44.

2. The reality of the resurrection is instructed in God's World, vv. 45-58.

Resurrection realities not only comfort us in sorrow, but they also challenge us to service.
