John 2:1-11

Metamorphosis is an amazing process. How a creepy, crawly caterpillar can spin a cocoon and be transformed into a beautiful butterfly is truly astonishing.

Jesus, THE Transformer, was “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). In the second chapter of The Gospel of John we see both of these qualities on display. The first eleven verses show Jesus being full of grace. In the latter verses we will observe Him being full of truth.

Today’s passage records the first miracle of Jesus—changing the water into wine. In this miracle we discover three principles of transforming grace.

• Transforming grace is present, vv. 1-5.
• Transforming grace is powerful, vv. 6-10.
• Transforming grace is persuasive, v. 11.

Just like Jesus transformed the water into wine, so He can transform you from a sinner into a saint.
