In a speech to the House of Commons in 1948, Sir Winston Churchill paraphrased a statement that has since been paraphrased many times, "Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it."
In 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, the Apostle Paul moved from the personal illustration of yielding one's liberty in chapter 9 to the historical illustration of Israel in chapter 10. Israel became disqualified to enter the Promised Land by abusing her spiritual privileges.
