Luke 12:13-21

Today marks the beginning of the Church-Wide Study of The Treasure Principle. By virtue of the book, sermon, and small group participation, it is our hope that the treasure principle will become an important focus of your life.

The Treasure Principle: You can't take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.

This principle was declared by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 16:19-21. On another occasion in Luke 12:31-21, He elaborated on this same treasure principle. This event is recorded in a very simple, straightforward way.

1. The setting of the story, vv. 13-15

2. The substance of the story, vv. 16-21

2. The significance of the story, v 21

Scriptures:

Matthew 6:19-21

Matthew 6:24

Colossians 3:5

1 Timothy 6:6-9

Proverbs 13:22

James 4:13-15

Proverbs 3:9-10

Proverbs 3:27-28

Matthew 25:20-21

What would God say to you if He called you out of this world today? "Well done..." (Matthew 25:20-21) or "Fool"
